Tour of California Stage 3
Frenchmen Rémi Cavagna wins solo from the break. We found ourselves rooting for him after being so long off the front and all of his descending troubles. Otherwise it was a bit of boring stage.
Tour of California Stage 4
Fabio Jakobsen (NED) out kicks Peter Sagan (SVK) in a crash marred final. Tejay Van Garderen (USA) would lose the yellow jersey then get it back. The race jury stepped a decided he was held up by a crash just outside the 3km zone. Key word outside. We disagree with the decision. It was some very bad luck for sure but they shouldn’t bend the rules for bad luck. Oh well. Notable: Apparently when Van Garderen went off the road after borrowing Lachlan Morton’s (AUS) bike it was because he uses an opposing brake setup. Yikes! Also, this is QuickStep’s 29 victory. They are on a mind blowing pace this year.
Giro d’Italia Stage 4
Tom Dumoulin (NED) crashed and his Giro is over. He would pull the plug on the next stage. Primoz Roglic (SLO) would take a few more seconds from Simon Yates (GBR) and Vincenzo Nibali (ITA). Thus far Roglic is riding the perfect race but it is the Giro.
Giro d’Italia Stage 5
A rainy stage which makes for more stressful day. Pascal Ackermann (GER) would juuuuuuuuuussssssttttt out kick Fernando Gaviria (COL) for the sprint. I mean Gaviria looked like he had it in the bag.
