It’s Tuesday. It’s sorta short. It’s sorta news. A sincere apology to my friends, family & co-workers. I will be slightly distracted for about three weeks in July. THE…TOUR…de…FRANCE. Aren’t you excited to see the new tech? Specialized, Scott, Cannondale & Giant have already unveiled some sick looking steeds.
Who will win the TdF? The “big four” (Froome, Nibali, Quintana & Contador) as the media has dubbed them, are on top form. Sprinters? Bummed about Kittel. Who will take on Cav? Be sure to check out the video (above) of the top 10 contenders reviewed. Also, Nibali in the Italian National RR Championships. Any questions about his form? Watch Cav in the British National RR Championships. Great effort. It’s weird to see him without a lead out.
Group rides are posted. Evans Events Summer Crit Series on Wednesday. Also check out the Mellow Mushroom Freedom Forty Ride on Friday July 3rd. And Next Saturday July 11th, Scott Primm is organizing a Mt. Magazine Adventure Ride. Don’t miss it. Details below. Click continue reading!
Italian National RR Championships
Nibali answering a few questions about his form.
British National RR Championships
Wow, impreseed with Cav. You gotta see his bridge, then counter. All for a steep uphill finish that doesn’t suit him.
So true. Sign me up. Oh wait…I am old. #feedyouradventure

Mt. Magazine Cycling Adventure Day (Saturday July 11th)
It’s a difficult time of year to try and plan/organize anything, but I thought it might be worth a shot to at least toss an idea out. Never ridden the below route and would love some company. My general thought would be something like:
- Group up and pull out of Fayetteville at 7:00 am
- Unload and mount up on the bikes in Ozark by 08:15
- Rough estimate of 6 hours saddle time
- Load back up in Ozark and head out by 2:30
- Arrive back in F’ville around 3:30
Obviously, I’ve left plenty of folks off that might want to join the adventure, so feel free to pass along. The route and proposed schedule can easily be altered as well. If Paris is used as the start/end point, it would cut the ride down to about 56 miles.
Check out this map on MapMyRide: 90.52 mi Ozark/Mt Magazine/Havanna

The July 11 Mt. Magazine ride sounds epic. I’m game.
The Mt. Magazine ride sounds awesome. I’ve rode Mt. Magazine from Paris a few times but I’ve never dropped down into Havana and climbed back out before, but have always wanted to.
But I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask what type of pace we’d be looking at.
Philip, not sure on the pace. Scott will be able to tell you more on that. Email him at Scott_Primm@jbhunt.com.
I have done the Paris/Havana/Paris ride a number of times. It’s a great ride. With two stops on top and one in Havana our total time is 4.5-5 hours (depending on the group). 6 hours round trip from Ozark would be struggle for me.
Good to know Mitchell. The full ride details aren’t set in stone yet. I think Scott is open to suggestions.
Absolutely flexible on the ride plan. I personally have no idea what to expect, but I’m sure there will be multiple re-group points along the way and some that will want to hit it harder than others. Definitely hope to keep things “reasonable” and civil!
