CX World Cup #4 Hulst Women
Well you just knew the Dutch riders would be keen on the final World Cup on their home soil and that is what happened in both races. Denise Betsema (Pauwels Sauzen) launched a long ranger on lap 2 and never looked back. Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek Lions) with a slower start took a bit to get to the front but did go on to take 2nd place with World Champ Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Alpecin-Fenix) rounding out the podium in 3rd. Notable: Clara Honsinger had another solid day at 6th place.
CX World Cup #4 Hulst Men
The men’s race was almost a carbon copy of the women’s with World Champ Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) launching on the second lap Toon Aerts (Baloise Trek Lions) in his wheel but Van der Poel would dispatch Aerts by the end of the lap. Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) had costly awkward moment in the pits when his confused mechanic bungled the bike swap. He was able to return to chasers and eventually dispatch Tom Pidcock (Trinity Racing) to take second.
