This morning we tackled the Hell’s Kitchen Loop and threw in The Wall for good measure. About 50 miles and 2700 gain. My apologies folks, I should have thought that one through a bit and paid closer attention to the dew point. This was the first super humid ride of the summer. I was not ready for it. Since the Hogeye Mall closed we didn’t get to stop for water until the end of the ride. I’ll plan accordingly next time. The Hell’s Kitchen Loop is kind of a local icon. Made popular by the Hell’s Kitchen Road Race the climb is pretty hard anyway you slice it. A good group showed up to take it on and for several it was their first time on the HK Loop.

Thanks to PBC for hosting The Saturday Ride. I like their slogan “Start Well End Well.”
Big day for the Hogs! #wps
The bunch.
Summer haze.
HK warm up.
Normally not a deal breaker for me. As you can see I’m drifting.
This is a great loop with very little traffic.
Lower slope of HK.
Save some of those watts for what lies ahead. The climb is about 1.3 miles with 408 gain.
First time up for Victor G. Pretty funny what he said when he saw this. #adultlanguage
Getting nasty on the 20+% ramp.
Round the corner only to see…
…another ramp. I messed with Victor G a bit and told him there were two more corners. I can be cruel.
Finally.
Nothing but dazed looks.
You know it’s a hard ride when regroups linger longer than normal.
What goes up…must go…
Love this stretch of road.
Ozarkia.
Thanks for the Coke Victor G.
E-Z Mart Oasis.
Again, everyone was lingering I think the humidity took its toll. Good times.
