This morning we tackled the Barking Dog Loop. Probably one of the funnest loops to ride in NWA. It is 50 miles of pure Ozark lumpy goodness with tons of twisty turny stuff. About 2600 gain. The bunch was in good spirits. We had a turtle save and even some strange animal noises at one point. Three day weekends tend to do that. Folks this is another route to put on your Arkansas bucket list.

I was happy to see a good turnout on a wet morning.
Take Old Wire Road to get out of town.
The fun begins. Some rolling terrain on Guy Terry Rd.
Is it too early in the ride for a beer at Saddlebock?
Some great scenery on Habberton Rd.
Not sure what was happening here at the regroup.
Mile after mile of twists and turns.
After crossing 412 we hit the climb on Parsons Rd. About 1 mile with 200 gain.
We recently added this section to the loop. Hang a right on Pleasure Heights Rd.
Captain Kirk and Russell W made it a hardhat lunch pail kinda morning. Thanks Adam B.
Pleasure Heights Rd. is also nothing but up and down twisty turny goodness.
Your on 264 for a mile or so. Be careful. Usually some large trucks on this stretch.
Hang a right on Ervin McGarrah Rd. (aka Barking Dog). One of the coolest sections on the loop.
It’s meant for speed.
The bunch always hits it hard.
The EZ Mart in Lowell is the perfect place to stop for hydration at about mile 30.
Back on 264 again. Tons of traffic so be careful but you will only be on it for a few miles.
Hang a left on Bellview Rd.
And right on Brown Rd. Another great section to ride at speed.
Ozarkia.
Man what a morning.
Jump on the Greenway to get back to downtown Fayetteville.
My whippersnapper.
