The Saturday Ride this morning tackled the super scenic but challenging Goshen Loop. About 50 miles with 3,000+ gain. So many relentless Ozark rollers. Throw in some humidity and wind and you will definitely feel like you rode your bike. After a long work week riding with this bunch is therapy. Exercise, outdoors, good conversations and plenty of wheels to tuck in behind makes for a great way to spend the morning. I hope you got out today!

Start as early as you can folks. It’s hot and there is less traffic on the roads.
The Bunch!
Here come those Ozark rollers. Guy Terry Road.
Tons of great scenery. Habberton Road.
I highly recommend you check out Blue Springs Road. Buttery smooth tarmac and rides like a roller coaster.
Ozarkia.
The new gas station in Goshen is great. Perfectly located for a rest stop and the folks running it are super nice.
Any store that has dog biscuit end caps has it going on.
A hard route but great morning with some good peeps. Just got this white POC helmet. Kind of an experiment to see if the color white is cooler. You can cook an egg on my black Giro Synthe this time of year. It did feel cooler but I need a few more rides with it.
Let’s Eat!
Total climbing: 4840 ft
Thanks for the recap. I ride a hybrid bike and have been looking to get a road bike. Maybe try some beginner to intermediate rides, less taxing than this. Would you recommend any specific bike or manufacturer? Any features or things to look out for?
Thanks for following! Most major brands have road bike models designed specifically for a more a comfortable position if that is something you are looking for. Essentially you sit more upright and are less stretched out. I have heard good things about the Cannondale Synapse. Several people I know really like them. Be sure to tell the person at the bike shop comfort on the bike is important to you.
Regards groups to ride with. I’d recommend the Ozark Roadies for a more intermediate group ride and there is a great beginners ride on Thursday’s with Experience Fayetteville. They take some time to teach group etiquette. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks for the reply. Ended up getting a Giant bike that’s pretty similar to the Synapse. Will check into the ride you suggested, found a couple other possible ones too.
