The weather has been gloomy all week. This morning nothing really changed. Cloudy, cool & wet. I decided to take the bunch out for some Ozark dirt. It’s warmer riding at slower speeds and nice to mix in something different. If you haven’t tried riding dirt roads yet you are missing out. Sky’s the limit on route options. It reminds me the most of riding when I was a kid. You just never know. Pure adventure. This morning we tackled what I call Savoy Loop (Gravel). Deer everywhere, creek CRICK crossings, sprayed from head to toe with dirt. Not a single flat.
Sector 2 right out of Wheeler. A mixed bag of bikes. Some on MTB’s and others on CX bikes.
Roads are still wet from the rain last night.
Gotta keep an eye out for potholes.
CRICK crossing. Some chose to ride, some walked it.
Into the Ozark National Forest.
What do you know! We did get to see the sun.
I kind of wanted to stop and absorb it. Like a turtle on a log.
But we had this waiting for us.
Kind of like a kick in the face.
Beards are popular these days. The Captain is rocking one. Heck, I even have a chinstrap.
I love when you hear folks say they have never been on any of these roads before. Good stuff.
Gonna need PCG to power wash me.
