71 miles on Highway 71. The Highway 71 Classic is most definitely a Classic ride event here in NWA. I can’t think of another ride that pulls in such a wide range of cyclists. It is a ride I look forward to every year. More importantly the entry fee goes towards annual membership to the Bicycle Coalition of the Ozarks. Folks if you don’t know much about the BCO, I encourage you to check them out. The BCO does a ton of work behind the scenes to make sure cyclists have a voice within our local governments and even on the state level as well. To learn more about the BCO click here.

A great turnout considering the wacky weather forecast.
The Bunch.
The pace was fast from the get go. The bike racing crowd likes to turn it up!
Oh Mount Gaylor you were a bit unkind to me today.
Unkind!
Turnaround point & aid station. Guess what?
You get to climb Mt. Gaylor again. This time the hard way.
But the views are great.
Ozarkia.
