When I heard this edition of the FAST Epic Ride would include a large portion of the new Bella Vista trails I traded in the skinny tires for the knobbies. It did NOT disappoint. Kudos to FAST (Friends of Arkansas Single Track) and all others involved for pulling off such a great ride on some sick new trails. Folks, I’m not kidding when I say that I was grinning ear to ear for most of this ride. So impressed with what is happening in The Natural State. If you love mountain biking then check out these great trails and be sure to make the next FAST Epic Ride!
About to start a big day on the saddle. I chose the 24 mile route. They had 10 & 38 mile routes as well.
The mayor of Bella Vista seems pretty stoked about the new trails.
A great turnout.
Tons of great features like this one. Yes, I know we should be riding down this, not up. (Photo was taken on Friday on a pre-ride.)
Riding the ledge section was very cool and a little tense at times.
A look back at where we came from.
The route had us on some dried up creek beds for a bit.
This was a great sight. About 20 miles in. Beer! Bacon! Bikes!
A bunch more of this.
And this goodness.
They give you different colored zip-ties at the aid stations. BOOM! 24 miles of Ozark goodness.
And wash it down with some local beer!
