Congrats to Brent Grist. You win! Shoot me an email at yogrunny@gmail.com with your address and I’ll get this in the mail. Or if you are going to be up here for any of the races I’ll bring it and we can square up then. Thanks for following!
Old man winter is not going down without a fight but you can’t stop the new life of spring. I want to celebrate Daylight Saving Time, the return of group rides & OCA’s fine sponsors. Yup it’s giveaway time! Some lucky follower is going to protect their noggin in style.
Enough already! What do I win?
A Cannondale Teramo helmet (Adult Small-Medium/52-58cm)
How do I enter?
Simple.
Tell OCA what your goals are for the new riding season. Leave a comment below to enter for the win!
The Rules

Winner will be announced Sunday.
Must be in the continental US (for mailing purposes).
My cycling goal for the year is to win a race!
To ride twice as many miles as I drive.
To never lose a sprint and move up a category this year.
WesB!
Win some CAT 1 MTB races, get a win at a US Cup MTB Race, and top five at the National Champs.
My goals this year is to destroy the hopes and dreams of everybody I race against. Then, as I take the top position on the podium, look down upon the common people and simply laugh at their futal efforts at what they call “bike racing”.
This is ideal. +1
Century ride, maybe ride a gran Fondo. I’d like to look into joining a non-competitive cycling club like Mello Velo down here in LR and make some new riding friends.
Beat 5.5 hours on the BDB ride this year.
I’m trying to regain my cycling fitness enough to ride with the fast group and consider racing. I have a long event in July to which I need to be fit. I’m looking forward to rejoining the cycling groups and meeting new faces.
Get my (ahem) back on the bike!
Obvious answer is to ride more, and climb more than last year, but mostly for me it’s to be involved more.
cat 5 world domination.
Goal of the year is to win a stage of the OKC Pro AM and Matrix challange down in Dallas. Also to not get dropped in the 30+ race this weekend.
Stay upright, enjoy each event, improve my pain threshold and compete at each race
My goal is to enjoy every revolution of my wheels whether it’s on the city trails or on some road I’ve never been on far from home. Just ride.
Set a new PR at the state time trial.
get in shape in the next 5 days for Tuesday’s world
Ride 365 hr in one year, finish Iron Mountain 42 in less than 3:20, finish my first 100 mile Mountain Bike Race, race a few Cat 1 XC races (after taking a year off from racing XC).
Represent the jersey in a manner worthy of it.
Be middle OTP instead of OTB in group rides…
Already hit one goal with my first podium at Crosswinds. My main goal is to get enough points to move up to cat 3 on the road and to race as much as freaking possible!
Gain some road racing experience this spring and ride the No Country for Old Men ultra in October out in west Texas.
Force other riders to wave when I meet them out in the road, come on, it’s not too much to ask!?!?
To stay healthy and improve consistently throughout the season.
My goals:
1. Continue, on my own, the workouts I learned this winter from Steve Auchterlonie, and achieve the same gains in the next four months that I achieved in the three month winter class.
2. Complete the JDRF Burlinton VT Century ride; and not be last.
3. Not crash anymore, which is why I went through so many helmets last year 😉
Start riding again…..almost 3 months off the bike now due to travel and crappy weather. Pretty much shot road racing season for me. Still want to match last years mileage, so I’ll need to pile it on in the summer.
To ride new trails!
2nd chance at the triple crown.
Train for a 70.3 in 2016!
my goals this year is to ride three group rides (minimum), increase miles by 50% for the year and add one additional ride per week (than last year).
Be at the front on Tues night when it truly matters.
Make it to a few mtb races in competitive cat 2 form. A guy has to have a dream, and that’s about all this is.
Prepare for a strong Ironman Florida and get conquer Kessler.
Win a couple Cat 5 races, then move up in Category.
Own all KOM’s in Roscoe, IL before it snow and bitter cold returns in late July.
100 miles/week April through July
To keep riding.
