42 Days
That’s how long it took for Jens Voigt’s hour record to fall. Who is Matthias Brandle? Who will be next? Sir Brad? Fabian?
Gran Fondo Hincapie
Made cycling news last week. Did the old band get back together?
Slaying the Badger
1986 Tour de France the best tour ever? This book makes the case. I promise it’s hard to put down. Click here to read Jon Johnson’s review. I have a copy if you want to borrow it. Shoot me an email.
Hydro Flask
I have had several questions come in about the Hydro Flask. Here’s what you need to know. Keeps hot up to 12 hours. Keeps cold up to 24 hours. We dropped water with ice cubes in it and had ice cubes (albeit smaller) the next day. Winter is bearing down and hot tea on a cold ride can lift the spirit (whiskey has a similar effect). The 18oz bottle fits snug in the cage you see pictured above. May not work with all cages but will fit in the jersey pocket. Click here to link to their website.

OCA
Congrats on expanding OCA. This is great for the cycling community. I wanted to ask since you posted details about a night ride, what type of light set up do you use or recommend? I’m interested in this for for both road and mountain.
Thanks for asking. Check out this post I did (link below). For the road you can get away with a handlebar light & rear. For MTB I recommend handlebar & helmet light. In my opinion the Serfas lights are the best bang for the buck. Thunderbolt is all you need for the rear. It’s plenty bright. The T500 T250 combo has worked great for me. I am currently testing for review the new Serfas TSL-LT1000 lumen. It’s crazy bright. The great thing about these lights is the multi-functionality. They are great for around the house, hunting, camping, hiking etc. See links below.
Post on lights.
