Tuesday Night World Championships is a 25 year old cycling tradition in NWA. It is one of the funnest & hardest group rides around. Here are 3 things you should know if you are thinking about jumping in on the Worlds ride this year.
- All are welcome. This is NOT a teams only ride.
- This is a RACE training ride. The goal is to build/maintain racing fitness & sharpen pack riding skills.
- This is a drop ride but there are always a couple REGROUPING points.
The group has swollen up to around 40-50 riders. We thought it might be good to have a few “guidelines” mostly for safety.
The 8 Worlds “Guidelines”
Thou Shalt ride neutral until we depart Fayetteville.
Thou Shalt not draft cars or run stoplights.
Thou Shalt not overlap wheels.
Thou Shalt point out major road hazards, vehicles & turns.
Thou Shalt respect thy fellow rider.
Thou Shalt ignore thy coach one day a week & ride like you stole something.
Thou Shalt enjoy ripping each others legs off.
Thou Shalt enjoy a pint afterwards at Puritan Brew Co. First round OCA?!
BRING IT! NEXT TUESDAY!
Departing @ 5:30 PM from The Bike Route or @ 6 PM from MopedU
Bring your lights!
well said Rob. “Back in the day” Worlds had less riders and quite frankly more experienced riders because the sport was so small. Now that the sport has expanded and brought a more diverse group of riders combined with almost doubling the amount of riders showing up at TNW…we have a lot more responsibilities while on the roads.
Hardcore ride for those not in shape but fun to be part of. Ride on
Love the guidelines.
