UPDATE 1.1, 1.2
The long range forecast for Saturday looks great! It will be a challenging day on the saddle for sure.
REMINDER! This is not a race but a ride. Go fast or chill, it’s up to you. Have fun & enjoy the adventure.
We are excited to announce that Puritan Brew Co. is the official ride “pit stop!” Located in the heart of Fayetteville on Dickson Street (click here for location). They are offering 30% off on coffee & food and 15% off on beer for ride participants. Just let them know you are doing the OCA Triple Crown Challenge as if the lycra won’t give it away.
We are excited to announce that Richard’s Country Meat Market is providing some chow for participants! Have you had their bean soup? It’s killa good!
We are excited to announce that CLIF BAR is providing some tasty energy products for participants!
We are excited to announce that CORE Brewing Company has come on board as the recovery beverage provider!
We are NOT going to have an aid station at Sequoyah. I repeat no aid station at Sequoyah. But stop by Puritan Brew Co.! They are offering generous discounts on coffee, food & beer to all participants. Located on Dickson Street.
You are no longer required to ride the iconic Rock City Trail at Kessler. We prefer that you ride in and out on 265. Be sure to sign in at the trail head. You will be required to ride Serpentine, Egg Beater, Spellbound, Western Myth & Crazy Mary to receive the TCC flask award.
OCA ROUTE SUGGESTIONS
OCA suggests that if it is too technical, then walk it. YOU are responsible for your own well being. Please make good decisions.
How you get to each trail system and the order is up to you. OCA suggests starting with Kessler, Sequoyah & finishing at Lake Fayetteville. The main group is using the city path to get to Kessler & Sequoyah then Old Missouri to Old Wire roads to get to Lake Fayetteville.
We are no longer requiring you to ride the iconic Rock City Trail at Kessler. We prefer that you ride in on 265 and out on 265. Please sign in at the trail head at Kessler.
OCA suggests that you ride Kessler in this order; Serpentine, Egg Beater, Spellbound, right on Western Myth & left on Crazy Mary, follow Crazy Mary back to the trail head. Kessler trails are marked. Again you can ride it however you want. It’s just a suggestion.
OCA suggests that you ride Sequoyah in the clockwise direction.
Here is a good example of the Triple Crown. Click here or on the image to see more details on STRAVA.
WHEN IT’S DONE
We will have food & recovery beverages at The Bike Route until 4 pm or when we run out. I am super excited to announce that CORE Brewing Company has come on board as the recovery beverage provider and that Richard’s Country Meat Market is supplying some hardy chow!
If we run out of TCC flasks you can pick them up at TBR once more are produced. We will mail it to you if you are not local. Please connect with one of The Bike Route staff and give them your information.
Apologies in advance if we run out of food or beverages. With this being free and no sign up required I am guessing at best on provisions. But there are some great restaurants located near The Bike Route.
The ride support is over at 4:00 pm.
Finally this would not be possible without awesome sponsors. The heart behind this ride is to encourage folks to explore the trails & city paths in our area and above all have fun doing it! A big thanks to the ride sponsors The Bike Route, Creative Awards, CORE Brewing Company, CLIF BAR, Richard’s Country Meat Market & Puritan Brew Co. Also a shout out to OCA sponsors The Bike Route, Newell Development, Matt Baxter, CPA & Sports Chiropractic & Acupuncture.
Check out the official ride flyer below. See you Saturday & good luck!

Bummer, I wont be in town that weekend. That flask is sweeeet!!!
I may have to make the trip over for this one. This looks awesome.
In! Kessler worries me, though. Ha!
Just curious. Is anyone welcome to come attempt this ride?
Yes!
Awesome! Well, I’m gonna plan on thrashing my legs with everyone else that day then.
Great!
You need a Luddite exemption to rule 3!
I will accept eyewitness testimony!
Can’t wait for this weekend! 🙂
how aggressive is this trail
Hello! There are three trail systems. Kessler is a VERY technical trail system. Sequoyah is also pretty technical and Lake Fayetteville is very easy.
Pumped for this ride!
Weather looks ideal!
See you all there!
Same here! Been looking forward to this ride for a month! Can’t wait!
Hey Rob, are CX bikes allowed? I think I might have to ride one. :p
This is a ride nothing official about it. So you are welcome to ride whatever you want. However both Kessler & Sequoyah are VERY technical trails so if it were me I would be on a MTB.
Any idea when the flasks will be ready?
Good timing. Just announced today they are ready. Please see the latest post Tuesday Shorts 2/3 on OCA for details.
