Not much to report from the two wheels with pedals department. PCG and I headed up to the Hoosier State to visit family. Indiana is a great place. It is uniquely Americana. It is a place where Chevy & Ford out number all other brands. A place where the soil is dark and rich with America’s heartland. Many towns have Native American inspired names like Kokomo and Mishawaka. History flows as free as the creeks, ponds and fields upon fields of corn. Take a right or left off the beaten path and you will end up on a small country road that runs straight and true. I couldn’t help but to think for a moment that, ‘I was born in a small town.’
Tess & Chance, live on a slice of Indiana goodness just west of Kokomo. They are living the good life. Aunt Toni & Mike are some of the most gracious hosts I’ve ever encountered.
G-ma & PCG dropping quarters like it’s hot. $30 on the last pull. Winning.
The cantaloupe was off the hook.
The best tomatoes I’ve ever had are from California and Indiana. The Red Gold brand is from Indiana. Pick up a can next time your at the store. You won’t be disappointed.
Cousin Craig & Leigh Ann treated us to the legendary Bonge’s Tavern. Located literally in the middle of nowhere Perkinsville, IN (population 130). This place is rich with history.
Folks drive in from all over and wait hours to get in. They let you tailgate to pass the time. If you don’t find a spot in the small parking lot you might as well go home.
It was an old bar for the locals of Perkinsville.

The menu is simple in options the food excellent and cooked to perfection.
I’m not a dessert guy but the sugar cream cake as cousin Craig put it is ‘I could kill man good.’
PCG and I unknowingly started a tradition of ending Indiana trips with splitting a tall pour of this in the Indianapolis Airport. Same table with the same rude waitress. Good stuff.
