It was a brisk start at 8 this morning but warmed up with a quickness. I was cooking pretty good about 30 minutes in and the layers were coming off left and right. A smaller but solid group showed up to tackle 55 miles of Ozark goodness. Sometimes it’s great to be in a group where everyone is at or near the same level. The paceline flows so smooth and the workout is usually higher quality. We had a 20 mph average after 50 miles which is pretty good, a sign that racing season is near. Cycling is unique in that you are exercising, in the outdoors and socializing all at once. Another super enjoyable morning with good peeps. It wasn’t without a few shenanigans though.
Some great views up top just out of West Fork on 170.
Art H had a blowout on a descent at 40+, thankfully it was the rear tire.
As punishment we made him stick his nose (a corner was not available) into his saddle for 15 minutes. Now that’s saddle love!
We are always team building. Johnny Law had a little trouble getting his long sleeve kit off. Jon J is credited with the assist.
Ahhhh then I decided to have some of my favorites for lunch. Hebrew Nats, King’s Hawaiian Buns, BACON, anything Red Gold, Coke, chips and Clint’s Salsa.
One of the many reasons to ride. Let’s Eat!
Rob is too modest to say it himself, so I will: He was a *beast* out there this morning, lots of long pulls that had folks in his wake gasping. Impressive.
