OZCX Festival | What You Need To Know
After witnessing the massive crowds cheering earlier this year at Cyclo-Cross World Championships we our getting excited for the OZCX Festival and UCI World Cup coming up on October 14-16th. There are only 14 World Cup events this year and this event will be one of two in the United States. This year it won’t be all about watching the best of the best. There will be some great community focused rides and races. Here’s what you need to know.
OZCX Festival Community Fun
Let the fun begin! OZCX Street Sprints kick of the fun Friday evening. We are hearing costumes are HEAVILY encouraged! This will take place on the finishing tarmac where the World Championships finished.
The OZCX Walmart Corporate and Community Relay races are next up on Saturday. With a team costume competition on a shortened course this will certainly create some buzz.
They are not going to leave the kids out of the fun with the OZ Kids Cross Race for ages 2-11.
One more cool thing to add. All proceeds from the Community Events will go to Arkansas Children’s Northwest, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Wow, that is cool!
OZCX Festival Races
USA Cycling amateur races (race schedule) will also be held during the weekend. Come race on the World Championship course for yourself! Then hangout and watch the UCI World Cup.
Of course you don’t want to miss the big show on Sunday afternoon! You can cheer for the very best in the sport from all over the world at the UCI World Cup. Folks the OZCX Festival is going to be a great weekend for Fayetteville and our region. Tickets to spectate, including Sundays World Cup, are complimentary – with promotors taking donations for Arkansas Children’s Northwest in lieu of traditional ticket sales. There will also be complimentary bike valet. See you all there!
