Do you feel it too?
There is something about the cool crisp air of fall. It makes coffee taste better. It makes sitting on the porch more wonderful. It makes me want to ride my mountain bike. I didn’t have any difficulty finding a crew to join me on the Back 40 Loop in Bella Vista Thursday morning. To say it was a blast would be a understatement. Regroups were nothing but grins from ear to ear. We hooped and hollered for three hours on 20+ miles of super fast flowy Oz Trails goodness. And that is just it. Why I love it so. The bike makes me feel young and these mini adventures make me feel alive. Folks the weather is sublime and the trails are calling you. Get out there this weekend! The Back 40 is dreamy stuff.
We parked near the Walgreens on 71 in Bella Vista and took Blowing Springs trails over to the Back 40.
Some good peeps keep this cooler stocked with bottled water for trail users. There is a great community forming around these world class trails.
Heck yeah. Ledges please!
I promise you will NOT be thinking about work (or anything but bike skillz) on this section of trail.
Make sure your tires are in good working order (filled with fresh Stan’s) and bring extra tubes and air. It’s new trail so a lot of sharp stuff.
If flats are good for anything, they at least allow you to stop for a moment and take in some Ozark glory.
Tons and tons of fast flowy single track and great natural features.
Exploring the outdoors by bike still brings me back to the days when I was a kid. My brother and I would push out further and further from the old neighborhood on our bikes. Good stuff.
