Quick update on CPL’s indoor training program. Well it is going great and the AAO facility has much more space than expected so Steve can handle more riders for next year! He is also offering walk up sessions this year. You only need to call/text Steve before showing up to be sure there is spot for you. (Steve’s cell is 816-914-1976). Check out the program details below.
When: Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm, through the end of February. Room opens at 5:30, wheels hot at 6:00pm for 90 minutes.
Where: AAO facility 1515 W Burr Oak Dr, Fayetteville, AR 72704. Tricky to find: just south of intersection of 112 and 49. 1st light south of intersection is W Drake St (at gas station), go west on Drake, Drake rounds to left (south) and take 2nd entrance into what appears to be apartment complex…this entrance is W Burr Oak Dr. Take immediate left turn into parking lot and AAO building is the big gym behind the house. Room used is first one on right after entering building.
Equipment: Indoor trainer is minimum. Highly recommend rear wheel speed sensor and cadence sensor and heart monitor. Bring lots of fluids and towel because you will be sweating. Gym shoes for off the bike work, sometimes.
Workouts: 90 minutes of intense interval training following a conditioning program approach. Each week builds on the previous. January is Lactate Threshold focus with Tuesday climbing and Thursday time trialing. February will add VO2, anaerobic and neuromuscular intervals to the mix.
Why? Great atmosphere to train hard indoors while the weather and daylight are not complying…same as group rides…you challenge yourself and there’s accountability from the group.
Cost: $10 per workout.
