2021 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup | Fayetteville
Fayetteville is hosting the 2021 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup (1 of 16) on October 13th. The World Cup events are an international bike race series and this event is 1 of 3 in the United States before heading back over to Europe. This event will also serve as a test run ahead of the 2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships also in Fayetteville, January 28-30. It will be the first ever World Cup in Arkansas and only the second Cyclo-cross World Championship hosted on U.S. soil. THIS IS HUGE! To put the event into American lingo, World Cups are like Monday Night Football and World Champs well, the Super Bowl!
Course
The venue at Centennial Park has a purpose built track just for this event which makes one of the most spectator friendly bike races to watch even more spectator friendly. The course is 1.8 miles long with tons of features, 90 degree turns, a massive 39 step run-up & crazy steep “ski slope” descent.
This will be challenging as the steps are wide and it is hard to find a rhythm.
This was just a field. That is a lot of dirt and rocks!
While it’s a little nerve racking to drop in, it’s all little childish grins on the way down. Man that was fun!
With the fall foliage on the way this will be a visually stunning race course.
Spectating
Watching the race is free however you will need to register and get your tickets HERE. The event organizer is testing out a new ticketing system and this will help them tremendously ahead of the World Championships. Also please note capacity is set at 5000 so get your tickets ASAP.
Parking
There will not be on-site event parking. Ticket holders will park at Baum Stadium and take a short shuttle over to Centennial Park. Masks are required while on the shuttle. Or you can ride your bike!! The event will have bike parking but bikes will not be allowed in the venue. There will be a separate pedestrian/bike entrance.
