I recently had the opportunity to ride with Eric Lynn Founder & CEO of blackriver a new smartphone app that allows cyclists to discover, create and share the best riding experiences. Their mission is to share every great cycling route in the world.

Pretty cool, right?

Discover. Imagine traveling to a new destination and being able to have access to the best routes ridden by the experts. Locals of course! But you don’t just get a map and GPX file you get a description with images and story.

Create. This component is also very intriguing. Much like we do here at OCA with our Ride Recaps a blackriver user would be able to create their own recap with images and story.

Share. The social aspect of sharing routes and discovering routes brings it all together. I’ve seen this a ton on the OCA website. Our Routes page is one of our most popular pages. And the emails I get from folks traveling here asking where should we ride shows that their is a need for this type of resource. This app gives its users that platform.
