Terrain: mostly flat with a few sustained climbs
Description: One of the most popular routes in NWA. Very scenic. Depart from MopedU parking lot. Head south on 71 College Ave. Turn left onto 15th St. Stay on this for about a mile or so. Turn right onto 156 Morningside Dr. In less then half a mile take left onto Pump Station Rd. Turn right at the stop sign onto Armstrong Ave. Stay on Armstrong Ave. this turns into Black Oak Rd. In about 3 miles you will come to the first sustained climb on the route. About 1 mile long 350 ft gain. Stay on Black Oak Rd. until you reach the stop sign in Sulphur City around mile 12. Take a right onto 43/74 White House Rd. You will stay on this for 10 miles. ACHTUNG! A few of the bridges are made with concrete & metal grates. In between the two materials are slits that a road tire can slip through. It is safest to ride squarely on the metal grates. Be sure to take in the awesome Ozark scenery! At about mile 20 you will come to the second sustained climb on the route. About .7 miles 240 feet gain. Continue for 3 miles to the stop sign on Hwy. 71. Take a right and head back towards Fayetteville (20 miles). There is a nice wide shoulder to ride on. Traffic can be busy at times. There is a rest stop in Brentwood (mile 25) with bathrooms and water (closes during the winter). Also gas stations in West Fork and Greenland. Enjoy!
